What comes to your mind when you hear the word “zinc”? Let’s be honest. Zinc isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think about beautiful skin. Actually, you’ve probably never thought of zinc being associated with skin in general. Zinc is a “trace material”, meaning you only need a very small amount each day. It is found in every single cell in your body, and more than 100 different enzymes need it to function. Our skin cells are particularly dependent on zinc’s powerful properties. The top layer of your skin is concentrated with up to six times more of the mineral than what is found in the lower layers.
